Secure Computer Based Testing at ACC

ACC instructors can now create secure computer based assessments either at their own computer directly to Blackboard. After an assessment has been created, it can then be made available to students through an ACC Testing Center or other authorized location.

With computer based tests, ACC faculty members can have test results generated automatically for common types of questions (i.e. True/False, Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer, etc.). Essay tests can also be given with follow up grading by the instructor.

The software which is used at ACC to develop and deliver secure online tests in the Testing Centers is Respondus.

The Respondus Authoring Tool software is installed on a faculty member's desktop or local computer. Once iinstalled, new test questions can be created, existing test questions can be imported from files, test bank files can be imported from a course text book publisher, and existing Blackboard exams can be converted iinto secure, computer based exams.
