Interactive Video Classroom Support

ACC faculty and staff may reserve an Interactive Video Classroom (IVC) for instructional purposes, meetings, training, professional development, interviews, or other types of events. For specific information about the IVC rooms or to schedule an IVC class for Credit or CE Classes, visit the Interactive Video Classroom webpage.

Video Support Services provide technical support and/or instruction to assist users with the IVC technology and equipment. The following are the types of support available to faculty and staff using the IVC rooms:

In-Classroom Technical Support

All distance learning courses and other scheduled events as needed are fully staffed by a facilitator, who will make the necessary connections prior to class time and remain on-site during the class to deal with any questions or operational issues which might arise.

A one-on-one equipment briefing and training is also provided to guest presenters prior to a class or event.

IVC Video Help Desk

The Interactive Video Classroom Video Help Desk is the central point of contact for all
Interactive Video Classrooms at ACC. The IVC Video Help Desk will be the primary support contact when faced with technology or
connection issues beyond the control of the presenter or facilitator. In many instances, problems can be solved remotely. In other instances, the Help Desk Technician will give step-by-step instructions to the user or facilitator on how to correct the problem over the phone.
Help Desk

The Help Desk is operational during all IVC classes. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM - 9:45 PM (occasional Saturday hours). To contact the Video Help Desk, call the Video Help line: 512.223.8146 or 1.888.935.2006.

Reporting Technical Problems

If a problem with any Interactive Video Classroom equipment or connection occurs during a class or event, call the Video Help Desk immediately upon encountering the problem for prompt assistance.

To report a problem after it has occurred or to report a recurring problem, please submit an  IVC trouble report form online.

Equipment Training

Video Support Services provides faculty and staff with proper training in the use of IVC technology. Training Sessions are held in the rooms in which the presenter will actually be using. The sessions are 1-1/2 hours long and cover all aspects of the ITV classroom. It is recommended that faculty or staff member attend a training session if he/she will be using the IVC for a class/event for the first time or after a period of two years. Faculty may also request training by contacting Michelle Cruz, Interactive Video Classroom Services Specialist, at 223-8077.
