Streaming Media Procedures
Instructional Television classes incorporate pre-recorded video telecourse programs. Most telecourses are available as streaming videos that students can watch online. In order to provide students access to the telecourse streams, the faculty member must request to use the files by submitting an ITV Streaming Media Request Form.
Note: Due to licensing restrictions, telecourse streams must be delivered via Blackboard.
- The instructor initiates the request by completing an ITV Streaming Media Request Form.
- The form is submitted to the DL Administrative Assistant, who verifies that the Telecourse series may be offered via streaming. [View the list of telecourses that CANNOT be streamed.]
- The approved form is forwarded by the DL Administrative Assistant to the Streaming Server Administrator.
- Within five business days, the Streaming Server Administrator sends the ITV instructor the URL (web address) to add the telecourse streams to Blackboard, as well as RealPlayer information.
- The Streaming Server Administrator notifies the instructor and the DL Administrative Assistant that the request is complete.
Streaming Media Support
- The Streaming Media Support website offers media player downloads, tutorials, and technical resources for ITV instructors and students.
- Faculty members experiencing problems with streaming videos should complete a Reporting Streaming Media Playback Issues Form.
- For additional information about requesting to use streamed telecourse videos for ITV courses, instructors may
