IVC Equipment Training &
Certification Process

ACC offers IVC Training and certification to ensure that users maximize their effectiveness in an IVC room. These training sessions give ACC faculty, staff, and clients hands on experience with the IVC room equipment.

For a list of available IVC workshops, visit the ACC Workshop database.

Prior to delivering instruction from any ACC IVC room, instructors are required to take two 3-hour workshops. Multimedia Supportrequires this in order to: ensure quality, help instructors transition from face-to-face instruction to IVC instruction, and enable faculty members to use the IVC equipment and incorporate interactivity into Interactive Video classes.

ACC instructors are required to take both IVC training workshops before they can teach from an IVC Room. The two required IVC training are:

  • Introduction to Interactive Video. This 3-hour class is for faculty or staff members who are new to IVC technology, current IVC faculty members who would like a refresher, or for faculty/staff members who would like to receive hands-on training with IVC technology. To schedule an Introduction to the Interactive Video Classroom training session, contact Michelle Cruz at mcruz2@austincc.edu or 223-8077.
  • IVC Advanced Topics. This 3-hour class is targeted for ACC instructors. It offers instructors additional hands-on practice using the IVC equipment. In the IVC Advanced Topics class, faculty will prepare and deliver a 5-minute lecture in their academic subject. The goal is to simulate a classroom environment. Each instructor will have an opportunity to evaluate his or her presentation. To schedule an IVC Advanced Topics training session, contact Michelle Cruz at 223-8077 or mcruz2@austincc.edu.

ACC staff members who want to take IVC training only need to take the Introduction to Interactive Video. Specific technical training sessions will be offered to IVC support staff members on an as needed basis.

For the IVC Advanced Topics class, faculty members deliver a mock instructional lesson. Therefore, it is not applicable to ACC staff members.
