To use the Polycom Speakerphone Conference Call Feature
- Press
On/Off to turn SoundStation on
- Dial
"9" to get an outside line
- Dial
the appropriate IVC phone/fax number
View a list of fax, phone and video help desk numbers.
To answer a call:
Press On/Off when you hear SoundStation's tone.
To adjust the speaker volume:
Press Vol to decrease or increase the sound level.
To control the microphone:
Press Mute to prevent the other party from hearing your conversation.
The microphone (MUTE) status lights will change to blinking red.
Press again to resume two-way.
For more than two sites:
- Dial
the number of the first site to be included in the conference.
- Press
the FLASH key. You will hear three beeps followed by the dial
tone; the first party is on hold.
- Dial
the number of the next site. When the call is answered, you
may talk privately with that site.
- Press
the FLASH key again to include all the sites in the call.
- To
add more sites (up to 6 including yourself) repeat steps 2-4.
If you make a mistake while dialing or receive a busy signal,
press FLASH to return to the original caller.
Trouble Shooting:
Telephone doesn't ring:
- adjust
the ringer volume on the bottom of the SoundStation.
Short silences, echoes, or clipped speech:
- don't
move the SoundStation while it's in use,
- keep
hands away from the unit during calls,
- keep
paper, cups, etc. away from the unit.
- at
the beginning of the call, let someone at each location speak
in turn for a few moments to enable SoundStation to adapt to
the environment.
Muffled
or "in a well" reception:
- Speak
closer to unit so the microphones can pick up your speech.
Excessive
noise:
- Noisy
equipment near the microphones can be transmitted.
