Document Camera

The Document Stand Camera is an overhead projector with a video camera mounted at the top of the unit. It is used to display any printed material, slides, negatives or any 3-D object that can fit on the base.

The unit comes equipped with both overhead lights and base lighting. Both color and black/white images can be shown. Preset Zoom and Focus controls allow the presenter to make adjustments to the image being presented.

The document camera projects overheads and transparencies to both the near and far sites. It contains adjustable camera which allows the instructor to adjust the size of the document displayed.

The Document Stand Camera is the "Document Camera" icon for the Polycom AMX Touch Panel. (bottom portion of screen)

Some d ocument cameras also contain a mini LCD monitor.

With the Document Camera, an instructor can adjust the following:

  • focus
  • lamp
  • positive/negative image
  • zoom
  • color of projected image
  • input type
The Document Camera comes equipped with both overhead lights and base lighting. The base lights facilitates the viewing of slides, X-rays or transparencies.

A 4" Preview Monitor facilitates previewing the item placed on the base of the Document Camera.

To display the contents of the Document Camera onto the IVC monitors, and projection screens, select Document Camera (gray icon) from the Local Sources (green bar) icons on the the touch screen.

Click the DOC CAM CONTROL icon to use the features located on the unit.

The document camera can be controlled using the AMX touch panel interface or by remote control or manually. The majority of instructors prefer adjusting the controls on the document camera manually.

Push button to turn on light

Select INT -Internal

If there is no image on the remote monitor when CAMERA 3 has been selected, make sure INT has been pushed

Select P at all times unless viewing a negative image.

This toggles between positive and negative.

Select C for color images or live demos

Select B&W for black and white images, line drawings or text.

Toggles between the two settings.

Press Tele to zoom in or look at the details of what's being observed.

Press Wide to zoom out or look at the entire image.

Press N or F to Manually bring the image into focus.

Press Auto and the Document Stand Camera will automatically focus for the items on the stage.

Other Document Camera options

Iris

- Normal setting is used under most circumstances.
- Open setting is used when the room or item is dark.
- Close setting is used when the room or item is extremely bright.


Citizen LCD 4" Monitor

Some document cameras have an attached LCD Monitor to preview what is on the document camera.

To view what is on the Document Camera, turn on LCD 4" monitor by sliding the ON/OFF switch at the top of the monitor.

Image will appear on the screen.
