Instructor Microphone
and
Speakerphone
The Polycom VTX 1000 Instructor microphone is a powerful omni-directional microphone and speakerphone.
To use the Polycom Speakerphone Conference Call Feature
- Press
the Phone icon to turn speakerphone on
- Dial
"9" to get an outside line
- Dial
the appropriate IVC phone/fax number
View a list of fax, phone and video help desk numbers.
To answer a call:
Press the Phone icon when you hear the phone ring.
To adjust the speaker volume:
Press the Volume icon to decrease or increase the sound level.
To control the microphone:
Press the Mute icon to prevent others at the remote site from hearing a remote site conversation.
The microphone (MUTE) status lights will change to blinking red. Press again to resume two-way audio.
Troubleshooting
Short silences, echoes, or clipped speech:
- don't
move the instructor microphone/speakerphone while it's in use
- keep
hands away from the unit during calls
- keep
paper, cups, etc. away from the unit
Muffled
or "in a well" reception:
- Speak
closer to unit so the microphones can pick up your speech.
Excessive
noise:
- Noisy
equipment near the microphones can be transmitted.
