IVC Equipment Introduction


Introduction to IVC Room Equipment

IVC rooms use Polycom's video codec proprietary software for connectivity. The IVC rooms use an AMX touch panel as the controller interface to control the operations of the rooms. Other Polycom rooms have Viewstation IVC units. The Polycom rooms use the following equipment:

  • Video Projectors and monitors
  • Three cameras (student, instructor and document)
  • Push-to-talk microphones
  • DVD/VHS player
  • VHS recorder
  • Manual student microphone controls
  • Smartboard
  • Tables and chairs with approximately 24-48 seats
  • Multi-media PC
  • Internet access

Polycom Roll About Units are portable H.323 (IP based) and allow ACC instructors and staff members to deliver instruction, conduct virtual meetings, etc. The Viewstation (Roll About) IVC rooms are located in Fredericksburg 6B. This room uses the following equipment:

  • Two cameras -- presenter & attendees and document
  • Desk-top microphones
  • VHS/DVD deck
  • Portable units on carts
 

Faculty and staff member training is on going throughout the academic year.
