Main features of the Via Video Application
Start in the left hand corner and clockwise around window
 

Info Icon ( i )

Info - Help Icons

Located in the upper left-hand corner of the applications window, this icon accesses the Via Video System Information screen.
When navigating the system diagnostics and setup screens, click on this icon to return to the System Information screen.
 
Help Icon ( ? )
Also located in the upper left hand corner, this icon access the Via Video online help
 

Window Controls

Window Controls

Controls the Via Video application window. Located in upper right hand corner.

minimizes the application window
[] maximizes the application window
X closes the application window

 
Resizing

Resize the Via Video application window by clicking the corner of the application window and dragging it to the desired size.

  • Dynamic Resizing - To dynamically resize application window, put cursor over corner and click, then drag the window to desired size.
  • To conserve screen space, set default display size of the Via Video application to 1/2 normal size on start-up.
    Go to General setup screen and select the Show half-size display at start-up.
 

Onscreen Remote

Place cursor over the remote control icon to the right of the application window to activate the Onscreen Remote. (see below for more information on remote)

IP Address Display
Located at the center bottom of the application window, this box displays PC's IP address.
It is the IP address that other users of the Via Video cameras will use to call/contact your computer.
 

Call Status Light / IP address

Call Status Light

Located above IP address box.
Indicates status of the Via Video camera and application.

  • Solid Green: Via Video camera and application are functioning but not communicating.
  • Flashing Green: Via Video camera and application are communicating.
  • Red: Via Video is in a call.
 

Brightness
Brightness Control

Located in the lower left-hand corner of the application, the settings allow control of the near camera image's brightness, how bright or dark the camera image is.

+ Increases brightness of near camera - click this button to brighten image.
- Decreases brightness of near camera - click this button to darken the image.
X Resets default brightness setting - click this button to return display to default setting

Camera Image
When not in a "call" window displays Near Image
When connected in a "call" window displays Far Image
 
Place Call
Right below the Camera Image is Place Call. This link opens up dialogue box for placing a call
 
Address Book
Stores preset addresses for other Via Video cameras
 
Via Video Mail
Allows the recording of a Video Message that can be attached to an e-mail message
