Student Information for Taking a Question Mark Exam

The process for taking an on-line exam in the Testing Center is very similar to the process for taking a paper based test. The main difference is you will take your test using a Testing Center computer.

How to take a test in the Testing Center

Follow the steps identified below in order to take a secure, computer based Question Mark exam in the Testing Centers:

  1. Show a valid Photo ID to one of the Testing Center Staff members.
  2. Complete a Test Request Form. This form is a two part carbon form. After completing the form, you will receive the yellow copy as proof that you took the exam and your instructor will receive the white copy along with any other testing materials. The Test Request Form contains the following information:
    • Instructor Name
    • Course Name and Number (i.e. ENGL 1315)
    • Course Synonym Number (i.e. 334521)
    • Course Section Number
  3. Select the Question Mark icon on the computer desktop.
  4. Log into Question Mark using your ACC eID and Birthday. If you do not know your eID or if you enter your birthday incorrectly, you will be unable to access your exam. The testing center personnel DOES NOT have this information nor do they have access to your ACC eID. You must get this from the ACC Helpdesk 223-HELP.
  5. The password needed to access a Question Mark exam is your BIRTHDAY in MMDDYY format (i.e. July 11th, 1987 would be 071187). This password must be used regardless if you have changed your eID account password.
  6. Take your test. Make sure you read all instructions thoroughly and answer all questions presented before submitting the exam.
  7. Submit your test.
  8. *** If your instructor elects to have a printed confirmation page available at the completion of an exam, it can be printed by doing the following:
    • Select the Print icon located in the upper left corner of the screen.
    • Click Print from the print option screen (upper left hand corner of the screen
    • Inform a Testing Center staff member you have printed your Exam Confirmation page and that you would like a copy of it for your records.
  9. Close the secure browser.

Before taking an exam in an ACC Campus Testing Center, you will need to familiarize yourself with the procedures of the Testing Center.
