| Using Voice Authoring |
Voice Authoring is essentially a voice recorded announcement left by your instructor. The instructor records an audio message and provides a link to that recording either from within Blackboard or from within a course web page.
An instructor can create a general audio announcement which is available on Blackboard's main course announcements page. The instructor can also leave an audio announcement within the course syllabus, the course documents or the course assignments areas of Blackboard.
Simply select the Play icon on the audio player icon and it will play the audio announcement. You can only listen to a Voice Authoring recorded message. You can not record a response.
If Wimba's audio player icon does not display on your computer, you need to verify that Wimba can successfully run on your system.
For Wimba to run properly, Sun Java must be installed. To run the diagnostic test on your computer system, go to: http://austincc.horizonwimba.com:80/austincc/diagnostic/main
Another possible reason for the audio player icon to not be visible is you selected "NO" when Wimba's Security Warning Dialog Box appeared.
Note: In order for the Wimba audio applets to display on your system, you must select "YES" whenever you see a security box.
